Oct. 22nd, 2004 09:39 amThanks to traffic conditions in LA, I am never able to tell how long it will take me to get home. I've had the days where I'm in traffic for over an hour, and days where I am home in 20 minutes. Due to this fact, I am never able to determine what kind of mood I will be in as traffic greatly effects how I feel.
I've always filed for an absentee ballot. I've never gone into a polling place to vote. I would hate to have to deal with hell in traffic to find myself waiting in line so that I can vote. Even worse is that with my luck, I'd probably forget the sample ballot that I mark up with my selections to make the process easier. Actually, I would hate to think about feeling rushed so that I could go home and make a mistake and vote for something (or someone) I am against.
This is why I took five minutes out of my morning to fill out an absentee ballot. I've spent the past week or so reading about the various measures as well as about the people running for office (not only for President, but for Senator, US Representative, etc.) and took a good hour or so last night making my final decisions for the election on November 2nd. I brought in the ballot to work and took my time to make sure that I wasn't making any errors in filling in the scan tron (let's face it, that is what it looks like).
I just hope that my votes do make a difference. I hate the way this country is going at this moment.
